Comeback Queens (I mean princess)

I am not sure if it’s due to the new normal or the stay home effect, but 2021 seems to be the year of comebacks & nostalgia. I mean, Sex and the city is coming back (again).... Friends is finally reunited and Mean girl (queen), Lindsay Lohan, could be back on our radar for more drama (literally) while the world tries to #freebritney.

Plastic princess can’t help but to wonder, if its the appropriate time to make her own comeback? Do people still blog with tik tok and all? I mean, there must be a reason why no one is keeping up with K anymore. And what’s a comeback without Samantha in SATC, Britney without a hit song and Lindsay no longer teen and mean.

But then again, who knows better? In a world of chasing cryptocurrencies and the next elusive unicorn dreams, maybe being irrelevantly true to your out of fashion self could be the key to keeping you sane in this crazy world; comeback or not.

Moulin Rouge - Your Song

Today, the princess woke up from the bed, thinking she was Satine (aka Nicole Kidman) in Moulin Rouge.

The part (how can anyone forget this part right?) where she was trying to do her job in satisfying Ewan (thinking that he was a rich client) when suddenly he breaks into a poem and then a lovely love song.

Lol.One moment hilarious, one moment total saccharine sweetness.

And all day, all the princess can think in my mind was "Poetry?.... yes, yes, yes, this is what i want... naughty words....naughty..."

Perhaps, happiness is, truly, that perfect mix of a silly love song and, hmmm, a naughty poetry.

Or Maybe happiness is about throwing caution to the wind and, like Moulin Rouge's tagline "Believe In Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and above all things, Love."

Maybe all the happiness the princess needs right now is simply for someone to sing me my song (like Ewan to Nicole)

Love & Happy New Year.

Mariah Carey - Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)

Somehow, Christmas is never quite the same (for the princess) without Mariah Carey singing in the background at this time of the year.

Missed you most (at Christmas time)

Every time the princess hears this song, she is reminded of all the dearest people whom had come into my life, filling it with so much amazing memories and turning it into such a beautiful place. And while, as life goes, we might have grown apart and away, the princess still misses them most (at Christmas time).

Because the love (& memories) will always remain even as the people might have already been long gone.

Just like, no matter how much ridicules and dismissive jokes about Mariah Carey these days, we can never really deny that gifted talent within her (that makes her one of the greatest singer/songwriter of our times).

Merry Christmas.

RollerCoaster - EBTG

There is just something special about EBTG's songs.

The slow, light, smooth beats/Tracy's unique vocals/ beautiful lyrics. - the perfect combination.

Good on a weekend morning. Good on a chill-out day. Good on a day when you don't feel like doing anything at work. LOL.

Here's rollercoaster.

Back to basics

In a year of so much dramas, it seems rather ironic that there is so little worthy to write about.

And as we, once again, begin to embrace the festivities that Christmas season brings, the princess cant help but to wonder:

"At this late stage of the year, and of our lives, have we reached a point of no return? Can one really go back to basics; to the simplicity of it all?"

As the princess begins admiring my christmas tree in the hallway for the first time today (having spent a simple peaceful & joyous day at the comfort of my own home); there seems to be a glimmer of hope.

Perhaps, it is indeed a timely moment to take a step back, move away from the bustle and hustle and get back to basics (of love, friendships and living) once again; by doing the quiet things that one had always known that will truly bring you inner-peaceful joy.

Maybe, like Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love, it is possible to leave everything behind, search for my balance and regain the very simplicity that keeps one strong and steadfast in life.

Right now, the princess can only sincerely pray (and indulge in alittle eating of course).

Love. Princess.

2 out of 5

Lady "V" says: "2 out of 5 aint that bad, sista"

Not referring the number of men currently chasing the princess of course. That would be a perfect score of 5 out of 5.....

Fresh out from her hiatus, lady "V" continues with her new found theory. According to Lady "V", in every search for man, there are 5 main criteria that we look out for:
1) Looks
2) Money
3) Character/Personality
4) Size
5) Size (interchangeable with career as last resort)

Usually, for ladies of high society and calibre (aka Princess and lady "V"), the minimum score for entry into our hearts (and soul) would require a full score.... as we call it the "royal flush".

This would include potentials such as straight As student, movie stars and hunky models.

But after Lady "V"'s serious re-evaluation of the scoring criteria and a thorough post mortem feedback, the committee has agreed to lower the scores, giving 2 out of 5 a "high' pass.

Afterall, we all need to move with the times; especially during difficult times like these, when everyone else is undercutting the competition with mass market brands and inferior goods, masquerading as top grade products.

Besides, as they say, in statistics and in life, everything is a bell curve (although some bells are bigger than the rest).

While it seems to be a pretty tough adjustments for the ladies of leisure; sometimes, you cant help but to bend backwards and over all in the name of free market competition and statistical analysis.

Just around the riverbend

As the princess makes her surest, safest and most right decision of her life, she cant help but hear another fellow SPG (Pocahontas) singing to her.....

"Just around the riverbend
Beyond the shore
Somewhere past the sea
Don't know what for ...
Why do all my dreams extend
Just around the riverbend?"

So as the princess choose her smoothest path, steady as the beating drum.... she cant help but to sing to herself .... "Or do you still wait for me dreamweaver, just around the riverbend......."

Perhaps, this time, the princess has let her fellow feisty risk-taking Disney princesses down by choosing the safest path; almost like Pocahontas is shaking her head with disapproval from a distance.

But, like all princesses, the princess knows one thing's for sure. There will always be a chance for a beautiful comeback to follow ur heart and dreams (even though it is as silly as can be) as long as you truly believe in fairy tale come true... to a life of happily ever after....

The beginning of the end - The Hills (Season 6)

After seasons and seasons of the Hills, the inevitable is finally happening.... The Hills is ending its run with the last and final season, season 6.

So much has changed since the first season.

Friendship lost and new friends forged; Ever-changing boyfriends and eye candies; The size of boobs of Heidi, her ever-changing face & the exit of Lauren Conrad. And some things doesnt - the totally grossed-out Spencer.

For better or worse, the show must go on... and perhaps, as it goes to show in this last season, all good things must come to an end.... sooner or later.

Maybe, we all got to move on at some point or another...... In the case of the Hills, its moving on to a bigger boob, a glamourous career, and a divorce.

Something the princess has always practised in my everyday life.... when its time to move on, always move on in style and glamour...

Afterall, when you know its the beginning of an end, you know its time to pack your bags up and arrive at your next destination in fabulous diva style.

The princess will miss THe Hills so much...

xoxo.... & gd bye.

The price of beauty

Fast on the verge of celebrating her sweet sixteen birthday (still without a man), the princess finds herself surrounded by her good old bffs.....

Tubes of best selling anti-aging creams, bottles of anti-oxidants, vitamins and miracle pills.... The princess feels like a drug addict already.

These days, just keeping up with your physical appearance, seemed to be such an uphill task.... leaving little room for inner beauty and spiritual growth.... (not that these are very attractive must-haves in today's world, the princess learns)

The princess cant help but to turn and ask the world's original supermodel, Janice Nicola Dickinson, "What is the price of beauty? and more importantly can beauty buy you love?"

Afterall, Ms Janice N Dickinson, is famed for a strict monstrous workout regime, earning her the title of "the Body only" and a man of her dreams.

Wise old Janice N replied as a matter of fact: "To some, beauty is a physical thing, To others, beauty is just a game of power, lust and fame.

The wise original supermodel continues "Beauty, my dear princess, has no intrinsic price. Its worth is how much people give to it"

The princess didnt know Janice N is a new age guru as well....

"Is that why acceptance is such an important notion and maybe used as a powerful weapon in the modern day social context like ours? and that Love and Relationships are subjected to the same unhealthy notions as well" the princess cant help but wonder.

Perhaps, at this sweet sixteen coming of age, the princess hopes for a man who will not only support my ridiculous and superficial effort and quest for the perfect body, beautiful face and kind hearted soul; but also accept the fact (with great pressure of course) that the princess could never ever be one of those "beautiful ladies" who can conform to the great pressures of beauty that the world has meted upon us.

And if such a man doesnt come in time, the princess knows she can always depend on the world's original supermodel, Janice Nicola Dickinson, to whip me into shape and into the arms of a hunky man.

Future Lover/I feel Love

In an attempt to marry new-age spirituality and pop music, the princess begins her meditation to the song of Madonna... Future Lover/I Feel Love (from her Confessions Tour).

I guess, when you set a deadline for love, nothing is too crazy for you to try.

With eyes gently closed, breathing consciously controlled and in tune with the invisible forces around me, the princess found herself chanting, together with the grand dame of pop, Madonna:

"Not controlled by time
Future lovers shine for eternity
In a world that's free

Put away your past
Love will never last
If you're holding on to a dream that's gone

I'm gonna tell you about love
Would you like to try?

In the evidence of its brilliance

There's no love like the future love

Come with me"

Then with eyes slowly opening and hands raising to the skies like a bird (i.e. Madonna in Frozen), the perfect pose to the perfect ending chant

"I FEEL LOOVEEE...... I FEEL LOOVEEEE....."

With that, the ritual is complete.

All the princess got to do right now is to commit the lyrics to heart, and pray for a Future Lover cause there is no love like the future love.....

and The princess will feel looovveeeee..... before the deadline closes in.

Pretty Woman

Sometimes, the princess feels, the way to finding love should be alittle bit like searching for a job.

It doesnt have to be the dream one that you hoped for your whole life (i.e. a supermodel, hollywood star etc etc), but it is something that you know you can live with; perhaps for the rest of your life.

And you are always willing to compromise your ideals if the price is right.

And no matter how your friends tell you and analyse for you, in the goodness of their heart, that you deserve better, only you know best if it will be meant to be.

Afterall, you are the only one who truly know, first hand and all the intimate details.

And the only thing that stands between you and your job (or a relationship), is your attitude towards it.

Maybe, like love, finding a job is a risky thing. Sometimes, you fall flat on your face. Other times, you end up feeling like Julia Roberts (aka Vivian Ward) in Pretty Woman; thanking god every day for the wise career decision, on hindsight, to be a hooker along the streets of Beverly Hills.

And like love, if the job don't fit, you know you can always move on to the next better one.

But, no matter, the key to success is always in the taking of the first brave step.

Cheers,
Princess P.

A brief relief

Every once in a while, some thing happens that breaks you from the constant motion that you are going through in life; bringing that temporary relief where you can feel yourself breathing, seeing and living in a moment.

It could be during a daily routine that you have been doing your whole life, that silly game or a simple trivial question.

A mere second of clarity where your mind clears of all thoughts and let the truth sets in; as if you are outside of your physical self (looking on to your life and those around you).

For a moment, you can see it all happening; everyone getting caught up in a fantasy driven by our own fears, desires and delusions.

But yet ironically, you know this realisation is a gift that you just cant seem to hold on to. And before you know it, it slips away from you, and you slips back into that unconscious living that you are used to.

And all you can hope is some of that realisation remains within you to remind yourself about what is important (or not important) in life; and gives courage & wisdom for you to do the right thing before it consumes and blinds you.

Or at least the strength to hold on strong until the next brief relief.

Christina Aguilera Vs. Mike Oldfield "Not Myself Tonight vs. Tubular Bells" (Djs From Mars Remix)

Christina Aguilera. The Voice. The Slut. And often, The Hated One amongst the new generation divas.

Accused for being a Britney wannabe and ,now, a Lady GaGa copycat; But with a talent like Christina, she can be anyone she wishes and pleases to be.

Here is she with "Not Myself Tonight" (Remix). This is an excellent remix, the princess must say..... Gets me on my feet (or rather down on my knees) *blush**

And yes, this weekend, the Princess will shed her usual conservative, wholesome self.

Cause the old Me's gone, i feel brand new......and I'm not myself tonight.

TOnight, i am not the same girl. same girl.

1,2,3

1,2,3.... Peter Paul and Mary...

So while Lady GaGa has taken over the pop world by storm; Christina has rightfully said, there is always room for one more in her ipod... or 2... or 3.... or 4.... on the floor.

One thing that the princess learns from Britney, no matter how upheaval her personal life is, there is always time for fun, dance and witty in-your-face lyrics - thats what her music is all about... that brillant pop optimism where anything in life can be fun, sexy and infinitely possible; and there is never a need to take it too seriously (or personally).

Afterall, there is alway room for more.... on the floor.....

The princess wishes that her life is like a britney MTV.....

The princess has nothing

The princess sits in front of the laptop with my mind pretty blank at this point in time.

Pretty much like Carrie Bradshaw (pre-marriage with Big, that is).

It is almost like when after the hurried days and partying nights have settled down, you thought you would see much more clarity but you dont.

Or you do but you just cant accept what you see ....... nothingness.

Perhaps, this is the reason why people fill their time with so much activities, goals and achievements even though it meant nothing at the end of the day.

One of life's little ironies; the fear that you will become nothing (or lose everything) when it is exactly what we are in the beginning and at the end of it all.

The princess cant help but to wonder: "How did we develop the fear of losing when nothing was never really ours to claim in the first place?"

Maybe, the courage to leave everything behind and wanting nothing for ourself is the first step to truly appreciate what life has in store for us.

Love,
Princess P.

The sands of time

Perhaps some love are across time; destined & fated to be.

Maybe they do not come with a jewelled dagger.

Maybe the other person may never ever be a hunky prince from Persia (AkA Jake).

While no one can ever turn back the hands of clock by releasing the sand of time, we certainly can try to learn from our past mistakes, appreciate the present and hold on tight to our faith and belief that there will be someone who will walk along side with us through the sands of time.

"Walk with me, prince Dastan" the princess, sincerely prays every night before she sleeps, channelling her inner-Princess Tamina.

Good Fortune In June

After a series of disappointing lack of love and new horizons for career, the princess was getting alittle depressed at the state of non-achievements in recent times.

Maybe i have been doing it all wrong all these times.

Maybe i have not been wanting it so badly such that the universe relents finally and let me have my way.

Maybe life is just unfair.

The princess was about to doubt the high priestess of oracle and her foretelling of my impending one great love of my life.

But an independent verification with the sacred mother of Chinese lotus indicates that as the princess goes into the lunar summer in June, things will finally be looking up.

It seems that the writing's on the cards and in the skies.

The princess looks set to embrace June with my long slender arms as i live life one month at a time.

These days, it seems, the princess can only survive on hopes and temporary bursts of happiness..........

The power of goodbye

Madonna in her Gothic-meets-new age days. Ray of light, the album that saw the resurrection of her career (before she went downhill again all too quickly).

These days, she just seems to be desperately holding on to her past glories, riding on the success of the next wave of pop divas & trying too hard to be who she is not.

True to the wisdom of her song (and this album), sometimes, there is power in saying goodbye.

As we reach half year of 2010, there is perhaps some things that we should also say good riddance to.

The princess' top 5 lists of stuff to say goodbye to:

1) Power, fame and wealth
While they can do wonders, the need for them are still, no matter, stemmed from the insecurities that we could become a lesser person without them. Let not our lives be defined by them & let the others fight it out as much as they want to.

2) Letting the right one in
There will never be the right one or the only one. The secret to love is finally realising that it could be anyone. Opening up your heart to a world of possibilities no matter how bizarre they may seem could just be the answer to it all.

3) Fixing whats broken
Sometimes there is no need to try to fix whats broken. Our innate craziness to fix things up could drive us crazier.

4) Listening to the good advice of another
Like they say, one man's meat is another man's poison especially in a world where none is ever the wiser (although they often appears to). Perhaps, the best advice that you could ever get is by listening to your heart.

5) The biggest loser
In life (and so as in weight management), you lose some, you gain some (sooner or later).

The princess decided that she doesnt need a perfect picture body to go with her beautiful face in 2010; finally coming to terms that life is never measured in calories and kilograms.

Last night a DJ saved my life

In the world of booze & music, life can be drama free, unconditionally simple and infectiously corny.

As the princess readies herself for a weekend of infinite possibilities on the dance floor, without a care in the world, she begins her disco diva ritual song:

"Last night a deejay saved my life
Last night a deejay saved my life from a broken heart
Last night a deejay saved my life
Last night a deejay saved my life with a song"

While it sounds weirder than fiction, sometimes, all the princess really need, is a DJ to save me (from the silly pretence and egoistical self-importance that the world would like us to believe in).

Lurve,
The DJ princess
