Future Lover/I feel Love

In an attempt to marry new-age spirituality and pop music, the princess begins her meditation to the song of Madonna... Future Lover/I Feel Love (from her Confessions Tour).

I guess, when you set a deadline for love, nothing is too crazy for you to try.

With eyes gently closed, breathing consciously controlled and in tune with the invisible forces around me, the princess found herself chanting, together with the grand dame of pop, Madonna:

"Not controlled by time
Future lovers shine for eternity
In a world that's free

Put away your past
Love will never last
If you're holding on to a dream that's gone

I'm gonna tell you about love
Would you like to try?

In the evidence of its brilliance

There's no love like the future love

Come with me"

Then with eyes slowly opening and hands raising to the skies like a bird (i.e. Madonna in Frozen), the perfect pose to the perfect ending chant

"I FEEL LOOVEEE...... I FEEL LOOVEEEE....."

With that, the ritual is complete.

All the princess got to do right now is to commit the lyrics to heart, and pray for a Future Lover cause there is no love like the future love.....

and The princess will feel looovveeeee..... before the deadline closes in.

Pretty Woman

Sometimes, the princess feels, the way to finding love should be alittle bit like searching for a job.

It doesnt have to be the dream one that you hoped for your whole life (i.e. a supermodel, hollywood star etc etc), but it is something that you know you can live with; perhaps for the rest of your life.

And you are always willing to compromise your ideals if the price is right.

And no matter how your friends tell you and analyse for you, in the goodness of their heart, that you deserve better, only you know best if it will be meant to be.

Afterall, you are the only one who truly know, first hand and all the intimate details.

And the only thing that stands between you and your job (or a relationship), is your attitude towards it.

Maybe, like love, finding a job is a risky thing. Sometimes, you fall flat on your face. Other times, you end up feeling like Julia Roberts (aka Vivian Ward) in Pretty Woman; thanking god every day for the wise career decision, on hindsight, to be a hooker along the streets of Beverly Hills.

And like love, if the job don't fit, you know you can always move on to the next better one.

But, no matter, the key to success is always in the taking of the first brave step.

Cheers,
Princess P.

A brief relief

Every once in a while, some thing happens that breaks you from the constant motion that you are going through in life; bringing that temporary relief where you can feel yourself breathing, seeing and living in a moment.

It could be during a daily routine that you have been doing your whole life, that silly game or a simple trivial question.

A mere second of clarity where your mind clears of all thoughts and let the truth sets in; as if you are outside of your physical self (looking on to your life and those around you).

For a moment, you can see it all happening; everyone getting caught up in a fantasy driven by our own fears, desires and delusions.

But yet ironically, you know this realisation is a gift that you just cant seem to hold on to. And before you know it, it slips away from you, and you slips back into that unconscious living that you are used to.

And all you can hope is some of that realisation remains within you to remind yourself about what is important (or not important) in life; and gives courage & wisdom for you to do the right thing before it consumes and blinds you.

Or at least the strength to hold on strong until the next brief relief.

Christina Aguilera Vs. Mike Oldfield "Not Myself Tonight vs. Tubular Bells" (Djs From Mars Remix)

Christina Aguilera. The Voice. The Slut. And often, The Hated One amongst the new generation divas.

Accused for being a Britney wannabe and ,now, a Lady GaGa copycat; But with a talent like Christina, she can be anyone she wishes and pleases to be.

Here is she with "Not Myself Tonight" (Remix). This is an excellent remix, the princess must say..... Gets me on my feet (or rather down on my knees) *blush**

And yes, this weekend, the Princess will shed her usual conservative, wholesome self.

Cause the old Me's gone, i feel brand new......and I'm not myself tonight.

TOnight, i am not the same girl. same girl.

1,2,3

1,2,3.... Peter Paul and Mary...

So while Lady GaGa has taken over the pop world by storm; Christina has rightfully said, there is always room for one more in her ipod... or 2... or 3.... or 4.... on the floor.

One thing that the princess learns from Britney, no matter how upheaval her personal life is, there is always time for fun, dance and witty in-your-face lyrics - thats what her music is all about... that brillant pop optimism where anything in life can be fun, sexy and infinitely possible; and there is never a need to take it too seriously (or personally).

Afterall, there is alway room for more.... on the floor.....

The princess wishes that her life is like a britney MTV.....

The princess has nothing

The princess sits in front of the laptop with my mind pretty blank at this point in time.

Pretty much like Carrie Bradshaw (pre-marriage with Big, that is).

It is almost like when after the hurried days and partying nights have settled down, you thought you would see much more clarity but you dont.

Or you do but you just cant accept what you see ....... nothingness.

Perhaps, this is the reason why people fill their time with so much activities, goals and achievements even though it meant nothing at the end of the day.

One of life's little ironies; the fear that you will become nothing (or lose everything) when it is exactly what we are in the beginning and at the end of it all.

The princess cant help but to wonder: "How did we develop the fear of losing when nothing was never really ours to claim in the first place?"

Maybe, the courage to leave everything behind and wanting nothing for ourself is the first step to truly appreciate what life has in store for us.

Love,
Princess P.

The sands of time

Perhaps some love are across time; destined & fated to be.

Maybe they do not come with a jewelled dagger.

Maybe the other person may never ever be a hunky prince from Persia (AkA Jake).

While no one can ever turn back the hands of clock by releasing the sand of time, we certainly can try to learn from our past mistakes, appreciate the present and hold on tight to our faith and belief that there will be someone who will walk along side with us through the sands of time.

"Walk with me, prince Dastan" the princess, sincerely prays every night before she sleeps, channelling her inner-Princess Tamina.

Good Fortune In June

After a series of disappointing lack of love and new horizons for career, the princess was getting alittle depressed at the state of non-achievements in recent times.

Maybe i have been doing it all wrong all these times.

Maybe i have not been wanting it so badly such that the universe relents finally and let me have my way.

Maybe life is just unfair.

The princess was about to doubt the high priestess of oracle and her foretelling of my impending one great love of my life.

But an independent verification with the sacred mother of Chinese lotus indicates that as the princess goes into the lunar summer in June, things will finally be looking up.

It seems that the writing's on the cards and in the skies.

The princess looks set to embrace June with my long slender arms as i live life one month at a time.

These days, it seems, the princess can only survive on hopes and temporary bursts of happiness..........

The power of goodbye

Madonna in her Gothic-meets-new age days. Ray of light, the album that saw the resurrection of her career (before she went downhill again all too quickly).

These days, she just seems to be desperately holding on to her past glories, riding on the success of the next wave of pop divas & trying too hard to be who she is not.

True to the wisdom of her song (and this album), sometimes, there is power in saying goodbye.

As we reach half year of 2010, there is perhaps some things that we should also say good riddance to.

The princess' top 5 lists of stuff to say goodbye to:

1) Power, fame and wealth
While they can do wonders, the need for them are still, no matter, stemmed from the insecurities that we could become a lesser person without them. Let not our lives be defined by them & let the others fight it out as much as they want to.

2) Letting the right one in
There will never be the right one or the only one. The secret to love is finally realising that it could be anyone. Opening up your heart to a world of possibilities no matter how bizarre they may seem could just be the answer to it all.

3) Fixing whats broken
Sometimes there is no need to try to fix whats broken. Our innate craziness to fix things up could drive us crazier.

4) Listening to the good advice of another
Like they say, one man's meat is another man's poison especially in a world where none is ever the wiser (although they often appears to). Perhaps, the best advice that you could ever get is by listening to your heart.

5) The biggest loser
In life (and so as in weight management), you lose some, you gain some (sooner or later).

The princess decided that she doesnt need a perfect picture body to go with her beautiful face in 2010; finally coming to terms that life is never measured in calories and kilograms.

Last night a DJ saved my life

In the world of booze & music, life can be drama free, unconditionally simple and infectiously corny.

As the princess readies herself for a weekend of infinite possibilities on the dance floor, without a care in the world, she begins her disco diva ritual song:

"Last night a deejay saved my life
Last night a deejay saved my life from a broken heart
Last night a deejay saved my life
Last night a deejay saved my life with a song"

While it sounds weirder than fiction, sometimes, all the princess really need, is a DJ to save me (from the silly pretence and egoistical self-importance that the world would like us to believe in).

Lurve,
The DJ princess

The Desperate & The Housewife

Lady "V", who nowadays go by the name of Naomi (as in Naomi Watts) or so she claims, certainly got alot of PR damages to handle in recent weeks after shooting off her mouth at a certain powerful housewife whose husband is in the "who-whos" list of the royalty world.

Perhaps, what Lady "V" needs now is more than a change in name after being labelled as "Desperate" and "Psycho" by many in the industry.

Well, being a close confidante of the Ms Lady Naomi "V", the princess (now being conferred as Scarlett Johanssen - because of our similar voluptuous body shape) can only offer a golden piece of advice based on her own experience.

"Go listen to Mariah sing." Princess Scarlett P offered.

At the same time, Princess Scarlett P would like to issue an official press release on behalf of Lady "V" that this unfortunate turn of event is really due to a series of miscommunications and misjudgements.

And rumours have it that Lady "V" has self-checked herself into an anger management class (as like the other Naomi - the original Supermodel, Campbell)

The princess sincerely hopes that "the Desperate" and "the Housewife" will finally let things pass.

Afterall, like they say in fashion, One day you're IN, the next day you're OUT.

Mock fighting over a man just to gain publicity is definitely a No-No in the high class society that we live in.

All the princess can say...... Lady "V" and Frumpy Housewife... you both are OUT!

Sorry, babe

XOXO,
Scarlett J

If i never knew you - Pocahontas

Amongst the many well meaning advices dished out to the princess, not listening to any disney's princess love songs is one of them (lest i get too carried away by the unhealthy notions of fairy tale love)

But sometimes, occasionally, the princess still wonders when she will ever find her John Smith :) so that she can break into a beautiful love song with him in a middle of a conversation.

"If i never knew you" (Mel Gibson and Judy Kuhn)

Isnt it wonderful to find someone who can make you feel fearless beyond and above life itself but yet, ironically, give you an inkling of how precious life can be..... someone that you can be grateful to forever for coming into your life (even if it wasnt meant to be forever).

Yes, the princess gets carried away again. everytime. without fail.

Love,
Princess P

The Golden Rule Girl

Just the other day, dear Mikey spoke to me, asking me about my life and how am i dealing with it.

Well, life's great i think.

How well i am dealing with it? I really dont know. I guess, its really a step at a time right now. Everyday, there seemed to be something new to learn about and deal with.

Ultimately, as long as you learn from it all and grow wiser but not cynical, its cool. Afterall, life is the world's greatest teacher one can ever have, isnt it?

Mikey called the princess a "closeted perfectionist" and "world's best disguised pessimist".

Not quite the terms of endearment from anyone the princess thinks.

Not wanting to take his remarks personally, the princess asked :"Am I?" I mean, the princess has always been known to be perfectly easy going and one of the friendiest gal pal around.

Mikey, being such a dear friend, just gave the princess a hug and that was it.

The princess knows what Mikey means.

I cant live thru life assuming that everyone holds a set of ISO9000 rules and expects perfect compliance with the golden rules in life.

Some people and some things are just the way they are.

Perhaps, the most imperfect thing in life is perfection itself. Sometimes, we just to need to know that even the freakest, ugliest stuff in life can be beautiful.

And Its really up to us to be willing to see pass it and embrace it with a hug. just Like dear Mikey mike.

The princess

2 is better than 1

More often than not, the princess can always turn to the words of wisdom from teenage singing sensation, Taylor Swift, when it comes to love.

Here she is, with "Boys like Girl", singing "2 is better than 1". A loving, heartwarming song made for listening to on a cold rainy day like today.

A simple, easy-listening song that tells a simple fact of love.

The princess heart Taylor Swift.

The princess back in Wonderland

These days, the princess feels like she is Alice back in WOnderland again (where everything seemed so similar as if a recurring dream but never knowing what to make of it).

Three months into the new year and yet it seems that 2009 had never really left; living the past in the present on all front. Every morning, every moment of 2010 just reminds me of 2009.

Sometimes, the princess cant help but wonder at times "hey.. wait a minute.... this feels like ..... hmmmm"

Yet, the princess cant really put a finger to this Deja Vu feeling.

Neither a good nor bad feeling, just a feeling of being stuck in a moment for eternity - a sense of loss that comes with too much familiarity.

The princess keep asking herself these days "Where do i go from here? I guess you can never move forward without knowing where to go to"

Perhaps, in true ALice in Wonderland fashion, the question that the princess should be asking is "Have i gone crazy?"

To which, some kind soul, hopefully, is gonna reply "Yes, you have gone totally bonkers.... but you know, the most brillant and beautiful and kind people i've known are crazy as well".

But knowing the friends that the princess have.... they are more likely than not to throw a bucket full of cold reality and call the princess "absolutely delusional"

Delusional or an absolutely beautiful and kind princess or not, like ALice, the princess is determined to wake up every morning believing that 6 impossible things will happen to me (i.e. like striking lottery, not needing to work, finding a perfect prince, strictly following the principles of a self-help book and finding that it works, stopping at 1 glass of alcohol in the clubs and, of course, slaying a dragon.)

The princess simply just hope to come out of my own wonderland soon and having an answer to where i would like to go in life and the resolve to do it.

And also, hopefully, like Alice, the princess can master that crisp british accent so that i can say "Yes, i would like to have a little of that absolutely beautiful scone please" as i proceed to my beautiful sunday brunch today with the nagging thought of whether i will ever climb out of the rabbit hole and see the light.

How to find a guy in 10 days?

How do you find a guy in 10 days, while studying hard at the same time, and actively searching for a new job?

So little time, so few men.

The trials and tribulations of a single beautiful part-time studying and full-time working class girl.

A book in one hand and a Chanel brief case in another; leaving the princess literally no hands to grab hold of the first decent man that comes passing by.

After a hush-hush meeting at the Valley of the dolls, the princess has come up with her brilliant plan to snag a fabulous guy in 10 days (or months depending on the situation)

Day 1 - Everything begins from within

Declutter, Prioritise and Re-focus

Too often we lose track of our vision by frivolous distractions such as dessert making, window shopping and wine drinking. Successful ladies are known to prioritise and focus. No point making cakes, wear nice dress and get drunk when there is no man to do all these with at the end of the day.

Back to basics

In the age of technologies where options seem limitless, ironically, the success rate can be really low.

We need to get back to basics and re-focus our attention on the few key battlefields.

Weak ladies, like the princess, really need to pick our battles wisely. We cannot afford to spread ourselves too thin nor too wide (no pun intended)

Vision Mission

In new age alternative world, envisioning is the secret key to love. The princess must keep chanting 24/7 "True love will come in 10 days time"

After laying the solid foundation for love, the princess is ready to venture out into her battlefields. Day 2, here we come.

The comeback ladies

Lady "V" meticulously plans for her big comeback this weekend as she realises that the sailors are in town.

"I will dress in nautical top and a white hot pant" Lady "V" proudly declares.

"You reminds me of Madonna in JPG. So passe" the Princess casually laughed off her ridiculous idea.

Secretly, the princess is planning her own big comeback herself this weekend with my classic leopard prints leotard.

After all, being out at sea for the longest time, surely, the sailors would love to see some wild and dangerous animal on the prowl.

This weekend, there will be a clash of the titans, as the princess and lady "V" bare their fangs and get ready to make that fatal pounce - like the deadly black mamba......

Sailors or No sailors, Classy or Crude, one thing is for sure.

After a series of distractions and false detours, the ladies of royalties are finally ready to leave old baggages behind, and strut back with a vengeance.

This time, only much stronger, wiser and lethal.

Lurve,
the mamba sistas

The personality profiling test

The princess shudders in fear as she takes on the terrifying personality profiling test.

Ever the karma chameleon and never the one who believes there is only one right way to everything, the princess is pretty worried that she might be viewed as a schizophrenic bitch from hell.....

The problem with our fast-moving world and our crazy desire to figure everyone out in a twinkle of an eye ...... is that we are so keen to pigeon hole & typecast everyone into a particular type right from the onset that we leave ourselves little room to really discover a person slowly.

As the princess finally completes her test (after going back and forth to change the answers) and feeling like a complete idiot, i can only hope for the best.....

Perhaps, in the cruel reality of life, we just got to be our own true self, put our best foot forward and hope the glass slipper fits to a t........

Down tonight with Jay Sean

Well, Jay Sean, the picture perfect boyfriend for the princess....

And with a sexy song like "Down", what more can i say?

ANd Yeah, even if the sky is falling down, the princess wont be afraid with Jay Sean right here beside me......

As the lunar new year + valentine's day is approaching at the speed of light, the princess makes a urgent wish that tonight there will be a Jay Sean appearing in front of the princess, and i will just go down, down, down.... tonight....

When Love Takes Over

Sometimes life brings you down.......

In a short span of just a few months, the princess had her fair share of broken promises (by numerous people), failed dates and many other disappointments.

Just when the princess decides that perhaps life was never meant to be a bed of roses and some people just couldnt care less about you; then somehow, out of nowhere, suddenly, that over-the-top optimism and sheer faith in the goodness of humanity just seems to unbury itself and fill the princess' heart with new positivity and serenity.

Perhaps, in a time and place where self-agenda often rule the day (which i am sometimes guilty of), we need to search further within ourselves to find that little bit of goodness and the innate love that had always existed.

Afterall, love and happiness do simply starts with oneself and was never dependent on another to bring it to you......

So, finally, the princess' resolution for 2010..... to let love takes over, show me the way and be that better person i always hope to be.

Here's a listen to "When Love Takes Over " by David Guetta Feat. Kelly Rowland
